Mission

The last two decades has witnessed ‘Connectivity’ reaching billions of people including rural, poor and under-privileged. For years, we have struggled to provision food, shelter, clean drinking water, toilets, health and education to all. But this man-made resource – Connectivity, which reaches everyone, makes a difference between life and death for poor and marginalized. It is time for all of us to seize this opportunity to provision timely information and connect them with life saving services.

With the growing ubiquity of mobile network and mobile phones in the hands of the people, there is much increased chances of improving the accessibility, affordability and effectiveness of social programs today. ZMQ Africa’s mission is to address various social challenges using technology by providing affordable services and solutions to rural and marginalized communities to enhance their lives, thus increasing their standard of living. ZMQ’s key approach is ‘High Impact - Low Cost’ model, recognized world-wide. ZMQ Africa’s objective is to bring down the cost per beneficiary under 0.01 USD, which we have successfully retained for years across other developing nations.

ZMQ is often referred as “One Cent” technology company, based on the ‘Gandhian model’. Had the Mahatma Gandhi been alive today, he would have been probably carrying a digital tool in his hands which would not only benefit the masses but also make them self-reliant.
